Overview

History

Reactamine Technology was founded in July 2003. A sister company, Engineered Polymers International (EPI) was founded a year earlier. EPI was a manufacturer of finished coating systems to include novel Silicone Modified Polyureas. Reactamine was established as an R & D arm that supplied intermediates to EPI as well as to coatings formulators. Reactamine intermediates served to improve the abrasion resistance, thermal stability, and chemical resistance properties of polyurea, epoxy, urethane, and acrylic coatings.

Amber Chemical, a UK-based group specializing in the manufacture of silicone technology, acquired majority ownership of Reactamine and Engineered Polymers in September of 2003.
In September of 2006, the Decorative Coatings product line was launched. This patented Solid Surface Spray System is designed for application on sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and other areas where the durable thermoplastic and polyurea formulation would be applied in a variety of colors to provide enhanced aesthetics.

EPI was combined with Reactamine in January 2007 to form a single entity operating as Reactamine Technology LLC.

Today Reactamine's product portfolio includes Silicone Modified Polyureas (aromatic & aliphatic), Epoxies, Polyaspartics, Isocyanate Prepolymers, Polymer Dispersions (100% and waterborne), Primers and Topcoats. The company also manufactures a line of foam products for insulation and other applications.
